This will be the first in a new series of inked sketches where characters just beat the beejeezus out of each other. The first bout is between Cyborg Superman and Teen Titan Cyborg, a match I don’t believe I’ve ever seen in print.

Tried conté crayons for the first time, you can tell particularly with the longer poses. The rest were drawn with Sanford Ebony pencils and one with Pitt pens and Prismacolor grayscale. I enjoyed the conté crayons a lot.

I decided to mix it up with this session, using graphite on the shorter poses then pen and grayscale markers with long poses. I used Sanford Ebony pencils, Prismacolor fine point blacks and doubletip grayscale markers, and black Pitt pens.

Much like this sketchblog, I also took a long hiatus from figure drawing workshop. I blame it on the the show “Lost”. But hey, at least I’ve got my Tuesdays back.
Last weeks session, I decided to be bold and actually go straight to pen and ink with my pose sketches. Ask any artist, not being able to erase makes sketching quite the commitment. All in all, it was excellent practice, making me more comfortable with the medium.
